I build products that solve real problems.
Crypto products by day, lately the account layer at UR. AI apps by night: Muro, Zdobny, Umowly. I write down what I learn so you can skip my mistakes.

crypto × AI eraAbout
since 2014Twelve years of building products, in startups and in big companies. These days it's all crypto and AI, and that's where I do my best work.
After hours: Formula 1 (thirty years a fan), football, and family.
Questions people ask
faqWhat do you do?
I build and launch digital products. By day I lead product at UR, the account layer connecting crypto with traditional banking: Swiss IBAN, SEPA, Mastercard and compliance in one API. After hours I design, build and ship my own AI apps:
What are you best known for?
Launching mETH Protocol, Mantle's liquid staking protocol, which grew from zero to $1.5B TVL in three months. Before that I led the BitDAO to Mantle rebrand, the BIT to MNT token migration and the chain launch as Lead Product Manager at Mantle Network.
What is your expertise?
DeFi and liquid staking, DAO tooling and governance, blockchain bridges and multisig operations, banking KYC and compliance, and AI product development. Twelve years of product management since 2014, in startups and corporations.
What should you look for when hiring a crypto product manager?
Look for three things: user-facing products shipped on mainnet, ideally at a DeFi protocol or a Layer 2; comfort with the full launch loop (specs with engineers, smart contract audits, exchange and bridge coordination, governance); and the ability to make calls with little user data. Then ask for verifiable numbers. Mine: mETH Protocol from zero to $1.5B TVL in 90 days, the BIT to MNT token migration and six shipped products at Mantle Network, an Ethereum Layer 2. If that is the track record you need, my inbox is open.
Who can lead a token launch or a token migration?
Someone who has done it with real value at stake. A token launch combines smart contract audits, exchange and bridge coordination, governance sign-off and a communication plan that cannot miss. I led the BIT to MNT migration and the Mantle chain launch end to end, and I am happy to do it again for your protocol.
How do you find a product manager who has actually shipped AI products?
Ask for live products, not slide decks, then ask about the eval sets and the cost, latency and quality tradeoffs behind them. PMs who only worked near AI struggle with those questions. I design, build and ship my own AI apps: Muro, Zdobny and Umowly, built solo with LLMs, AI agents and image generation pipelines, so I can answer them for every feature I shipped.
Do you need an AI product manager or an ML engineer?
For most products in 2026 the AI product manager comes first. Models are already good enough; the hard part is picking the right workflow, designing evals and making the economics work. I prototype with LLMs and image models myself, so engineering time goes only where it matters. If you have one hire to make, make it the person who has already shipped.
How do you add AI to an existing product without ruining it?
Start with one painful workflow, not a chatbot bolted on the side. Define eval sets before writing prompts, design fallbacks for when the model is wrong, and watch cost and latency from day one. This is exactly how I build my own apps (Muro, Zdobny, Umowly) and how I would approach yours.
How long does it take to ship an AI MVP?
Weeks, not quarters. With today's LLMs, agents and image models a focused build reaches the App Store or production in 4 to 8 weeks. I shipped Muro, Zdobny and Umowly solo, after hours; with your team and a clear scope it goes faster. The bottleneck is product decisions, not code.
Who can build AI products for regulated industries like fintech or crypto?
Someone who has lived with compliance instead of fighting it. I run product at UR (crypto banking: Swiss IBAN, SEPA, Mastercard, KYC/AML) and ship consumer AI apps on the side, so I know how to put LLMs to work where audits, regulators and real money are involved.
Who can fix crypto onboarding and KYC flows?
Treat KYC as a product problem, not a legal checkbox, and conversion follows. I work on this daily at UR, the account layer with Swiss IBAN, SEPA and Mastercard in one API: onboarding flows, vendor integrations and pass-rate optimization under EU and Swiss rules. If your drop-off happens at verification, I know where to look.
How do you verify a crypto product manager's track record?
In crypto you do not have to trust a resume, the chain remembers. TVL, contract deployments, governance votes and migrations are all public. Every number I claim (mETH $1.5B TVL, the BIT to MNT migration, the Mantle launches) can be checked onchain or in public changelogs. Ask any candidate for the same.
